PSP Village – deaf and Hard of Hearing program – Primary School

Come and connect with other 6-11 yr. old’s that are deaf or hard of hearing for some Lego based games and creativity on Thursday and then join our Family Picnic in the Park on Saturday and meet deaf and hard of hearing children of all ages and their families.
Goals

  • Deaf identity – connecting with others who are deaf or hard of hearing in a fun and supportive environment
  • Meeting new friends – practicing greeting, listening to others, and co-operatively working as part of a group
  • Self-advocacy –learning to identify challenges in communication in different environments and specific strategies to begin to manage these more independently
  • Device management – an opportunity to explore how to explain your hearing loss and devices to others and independently manage your device needs both indoors and out.

When:
Thursday 15th April 10am to 12.00pm – 6-11 year olds
Saturday 17th April – 11.30am to 1.30pm Family picnic

Where: Session 1: 16 Davey Street Frankston – entry is via Bay Lane
Session 2: George Pentland Gardens Frankston

Cost: $360.00 including all handouts and materials (for 4 hours of support)
