The Pre-Prep deaf and hard of hearing program is a 2 x 90 min program + 2 hour Family Picnic for children who are deaf or hard of hearing and are likely to begin school next year. Further sessions will be held each holiday break throughout the year.
Goals:
- Device management and understanding my hearing loss for both educational and social settings
- Deaf identity – connecting with other children with a hearing loss
- Self-advocacy skills- identifying and repairing communication breakdowns
- Executive Function Skills- organizing and managing independently
- Early literacy development and phonological awareness
- Emotional regulation – the Zones of Regulation
- Collaborating with others and having fun whilst practising social skills
- Parent coaching, support, and connection
When:
Friday 16th April – 10.00 am to 12.00pm 4-5yolds (almost school-age)
Saturday 17th April – 11.30 am to 1.30 pm Family picnic

Session 2: 16 Davey Street Frankston – entry is via Bay Lane
Session 3: George Pentland Gardens Frankston
