Prepping for Life after School

Many young people lack the skills and/or confidence to apply for a job once leaving school aged 18. They can also find interviewing and keeping a job difficult. These skills are essential in order for that young person to develop independence throughout adulthood.  

Group GoalTo develop life skills that are necessary to apply, interview and succeed at a job. 

Objectives: 

  • To develop an awareness of how to prepare a CV 
  • To develop conversation skills including eye contact and body language, topic maintenance, asking and answering questions and making connected comments.  
  • To develop an awareness of how to prepare for and engage in an interview situation.  
  • To engage in role-playing and solve common problems in the workplace such as conflict resolution.

Tuesday 29th Sept and Thursday 1st October, 2 pm-3.30 pm
