Play in the Park (0-7 yr. olds) – deaf and hard of hearing families
Meet other families and join in some fun group and individual activities such as giant parachute, bubbles, crafts, storytelling with puppets and active games in the George Pentland Gardens. Older deaf and hard of hearing teens will join us and be supported to explore the idea of mentoring our younger community members. Connections can be made between toddlers and teens, school children and adults to begin a supportive and collaborative journey in 2021!
- Deaf identity – connecting with others who are deaf or hard of hearing in a fun and supportive environment
- Self-advocacy – seeing and sharing an understanding of different devices and needs for every individual.
- Celebrating strengths and supporting needs in a safe and inclusive environment
- Sharing experiences, challenges, and successes with other families on a similar journey
