Getting In the Zone

‘Getting In the Zone’ is an occupational therapist facilitated program which draws on the ‘Zones of Regulation’ and ‘Social Thinking’ principles.

The aim of this program is to develop your child’s understanding of their arousal regulation and emotional regulation and give them the tools they need to be able to self-regulate their behaviours.

Group sessions will be facilitated in our Mornington clinic by Krista Lenders and Amanda Martin, occupational therapists.

Places in this group will be strictly limited. In order to secure your child’s spot in the group please contact the Peninsula Speech Plus admin team as soon as possible.

The group will run over sessions, at a cost of $95 per session, with a total cost of $855. Please note this is the cost for the entire program, missed sessions will not be reimbursed. The first session to be held on Saturday 5th of October is a 1:1 session with the facilitating therapists to introduce your child to the program and identify their individual goals. All participants within the group will receive a folder which will have new resources added to it after each session.

As this program is new to Peninsula Speech Plus, it will be run as a pilot program, with the plan to roll out additional ‘Getting In the Zone’ groups next year for different age groups and skill levels.

This group will be specifically targeting children in Grades One/Two, who are experiencing arousal and emotional regulation difficulties. Participants are required to enjoy working with their peers and be able to actively contribute to group discussions. This group is targeted to children who have no prior experience with using the ‘Zones of Regulation’ concepts.

If you have any questions about your child’s suitability for the group or the content of the group program please contact Krista at
